Professional Staff Nurse – UPMC Pinnacle Health Cardiovascular Institute (Mechanicsburg)

UPMC is seeking a full-time Professional Staff Nurse to join our Cardiovascular Institute team in Mechanicsburg. Enjoy a Monday–Friday schedule (7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.) with no weekends or holidays!

We’re looking for an experienced RN with 3 years of ED, ICU, or cardiology experience (preferred) who is committed to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. In this role, you’ll use your clinical expertise, judgment, and strong communication skills to coordinate and provide high-quality care, while collaborating closely with physicians, team members, patients, and families throughout the continuum of care.

Responsibilities:

• Actively participates in quality improvement initiatives and identifies opportunities to enhance patient care.
• Uses research and evidence-based practice to support clinical improvements and professional growth.
• Builds positive, collaborative relationships with physicians, staff, and patients/families.
• Demonstrates strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to manage changing priorities.
• Provides effective teaching and support to patients, families, students, and new staff.
• Develops individualized care plans, triages patient needs, and assists physicians with all aspects of care.
• Communicates clearly, documents thoroughly, and advocates for patient safety and quality outcomes.
• Engages in shared governance, goal setting, and initiatives that enhance the care environment.
• Maintains professionalism, cultural awareness, accountability, and healthy work–life balance.

• Practices flexibility, teamwork, and responsiveness to ensure a compassionate, patient-focused experience.
