Precision Sheet Metal Welder/Fabricator (MIG)
Weekend shift available : Friday–Sunday, 6:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m.

What you’ll make happen
- Produce sheet metal weldments that meet dimensional specs from mechanical engineered drawings
- Determine weld locations, sizes, and lengths within allowed tolerances
- Meet cosmetic/appearance requirements, including grinding and sheet metal buffing
- Use MIG on mild and stainless steel; perform spray transfer MIG where applicable
- Execute basic fitting, coping, positioning, alignment, and squaring
- Set up and adjust machines per department manuals; fine tune voltage
- Remove material via grinding and perform surface finishing
- Read drawings, inspect parts for basic dimensions, and verify against complex engineered prints
- Evaluate weld beads for acceptable attributes and overall integrity
- Identify materials (e.g., copper types, stainless grades); choose appropriate process
- Apply knowledge of flux-core and shielded wire
- Tack weld and stud weld as needed
- Use torch cutting and arc metal gouging when required

- Daily collaborators: Machine Operators, Welders, Painters, Material Handlers, Leadpersons, Supervisors

What you need to bring
- 1–2 years of relevant experience
- Basic English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to perform hot work outside the department
- Finish grinding and surface finishing proficiency
- Experience correcting/repairing improper welds
- Knowledge of fixtures used in your area
- Capability with tack welding and stud welding
- Confident adjusting voltage and machine parameters
- Ability to square parts accurately
- Experience with torch cutting and arc metal gouging
- Understanding of how your tasks fit the broader product build
- Knowledge of AWS charts/steel tables and welding symbols
- Skilled with core tools: tape measure, squares, clamps, fillet gauge, angle finder, etc.
- Comfort converting decimals to fractions and using conversion charts
- Strong teamwork and communication
- Adherence to Lock Out Tag Out procedures
- Reliability in following company procedures, safety rules, and ISO requirements
Work setting
All work takes place in a shop environment with ongoing exposure to typical shop elements. We prioritize accident prevention and provide appropriate protective equipment. PPE must be worn, and employees are expected to observe all safety practices and rules.
