Job Description

Outside Sales Representative

Looking for PVFF professionals ideally with 15+ years of experience in the industry.

Position Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned account relationships representing company.
  • Prospect and actively seek new account opportunities greater than $50,000 annual revenue focusing on company core products of pipe, valves, fittings, and flanges.
  • Organize personal schedules to maximize contact with customers via face-to-face meetings, email, and phone contact.
  • Build strong relationships with clients. When necessary, introduce company Inside Sales representatives to customers to ensure efficient and effective handling of transactional activity for quotes, bids, purchase orders, and customer deliveries.
  • Consult with current and potential customers to understand their needs; identify and suggest products or services within company’s core products to meet those needs. Inform of emerging technologies customer are considering for additional business opportunities company may fulfill.
  • Update and maintain current contacts in NetSuite for critical customer decision makers. Readily share account information across company to support teams to enhance quality of customer experience.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve assigned sales quotas.
  • Actively engage customers asking for quote and bid opportunities. Collaborate with executive leadership on quotes, bids, and purchase orders. Present quotes to customers. Ask customers for acknowledgement of sale or last bid opportunity.
  • Report win/loss activity on assigned accounts showing quote activity to purchase order attainment.
  • Perform monthly evaluation of assigned accounts. Understand sales and gross profit performance. Identify missed opportunities, emerging opportunities, and consistency of sales to pinpoint issues and opportunities. Monitor monthly sales metrics and analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Demonstrate assigned account sales pipeline for MRO, CAPEX, and turnarounds. Work with Senior Management on revenue forecast articulating % of win projections.
  • Actively collaborate with Inside Sales, warehouse, finance, and Senior Management to ensure alignment on sales strategies through seamless delivery of products to customers.
  • Represent company to resolve customer complaints. Coordinate within company regarding issues that interfere with efficient sales operations.
  • Organize and set up industry trade shows and events. Ensure there is appropriate staff support coverage to handle sales booth activity and allow for one-on-one customer interfaces.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.

Position Requirements

  • Show technical knowledge of company’s product offerings for piping products and machining services.
  • Keep up to date with product knowledge, market trends, and industry developments.
  • Be able to show track record of driving sales growth.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibit analytical skills to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Have strong customer service orientation focused on customer satisfaction.
  • Actively use company ERP system and Microsoft Office Suite to leverage personal productivity.
  • Be willing to train and share knowledge with other company employees.
  • Be a team player.
