Microsoft Purview Engineer
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Microsoft Purview Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support an important Department of Defense (DoD) mission on our DEOS contract. This is a 100% remote position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Microsoft Purview solutions to ensure data governance, security, and compliance across the organization. This role requires knowledge of DoD and federal records management policies and the ability to lead complex technical initiatives.
How a Microsoft Purview Engineer will make an Impact:
Purview SME: Function as the primary subject matter expert for Microsoft Purview, providing strategic guidance and technical leadership on all aspects of its capabilities, including Data Governance, Information Protection, Data Lifecycle Management, and Insider Risk Management.
Strategy & Implementation: Develop, collaborate, and execute innovative data governance, management, and security solutions using Microsoft Purview in alignment with DoD, Healthcare, and modern data standards collaborating with CDAO, AO, and PMO.
Policy Development: Lead the ideation, requirements gathering, creation, and implementation of data classification, retention, and labeling policies in accordance with DoD Records Management guidance.
Problem Solving: Proactively and autonomously identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical challenges related to Purview and its integration with other systems.
Collaboration: Establishing relationships and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, including data architects, security teams, and stakeholders, providing leadership and mentorship while functioning as a strong team contributor.
Monitoring & Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize Purview policies, generate comprehensive compliance status reports, and recommend strategic enhancements.
Training: Develop and deliver technical training to IT staff and end-users.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED - REQUIRED:
Bring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Microsoft Purview Engineer must have:
● Security clearance level: Secret
● Certification : Current 8570 IAT II certification (CompTIA Security+ CE)
● Education : Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar field, OR equivalent experience in lieu of degree
● Experience : 8+ years of related experience
● Technical skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Purview services and Microsoft 365 Security and compliance centers.
Understanding of data security frameworks and compliance regulations.
Development and enforcement of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Policies and Sensitive Information Types
Retention Labels and Retention Policies as they pertain to Data and Records Management lifecycles to include eDiscovery and disposition and retention schedules, inclusive of structured and unstructured data types and metadata.
eDiscovery and Compliance Boundaries
Information Protection Sensitivity Labels
Experience with Azure services.
