SUMMARY O F DUTIES :

This person will be required to work in a lockdown facility due to the high dollar value of the inventory. The work shift is:

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday .... 8:00am-4:00pm.

Saturday, Sunday .... 4pm-12am.

Monday and Tuesday ...... Days off

 

This position:

  • Must be capable of multi-tasking and meeting deadlines as assigned. Incumbent will log and report all disbursements received through material control, answer phones, create and maintain files.
  • Job requires the ability to learn and understand the functioning of the SAP inventory system and inventory control techniques.
  • Must have a valid driver's license in order to pick up and deliver parts and supplies, US Main, RRB, Interoffice & Interoffice Express mail, and other company related materials.
  • Must be able to operate material handling equipment.
  • Must complete DOT Hazmat training on schedule determined by supervisor.
  • Must complete Forklift training on schedule determined by supervisor.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Other duties as assigned. Must comply with Amtrak's Standards of Excellence, safety rules and all other policies and procedures.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Warehouse forklift, Electric pallet jacks, Shipping and Receiving tools Crimpers etc, ( preferred, not mandatory)
  • Gen Warehouse Materials Receiving and Stocking and packaging procedures
  • SAP Warehouse Management Software application for managing inventory experience, ( preferred, not mandatory)
  • Safety and Security knowledge and experience in a lock down Materials Warehouse Facility
  • Must have a valid unrestricted driver’s license.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Amtrak Material Control Department experience

 

COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS :
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

The hourly rate is $26.69 - $35.58(with opportunity for increases, as per the applicable collective bargaining agreement, after beginning employment). In accordance with federal law governing security checks of covered individuals for providers of public transportation (Title 6 U.S.C. §1143), Amtrak is required to screen applicants for any permanent or interim disqualifying criminal offenses.
