Freelance Shopify eCommerce Specialist
Job Responsibilities
Duration: 3-6 months contract, with possibility of extension
Location: Remote, with availability for occasional meetings
Reporting to: eCommerce Product Manager, Thistle Farms
Start Date: Immediate
Scope of Work
eCommerce Management:
- Provide strategic support to the Ecommerce Product Manager, suggesting and implementing improvements to digital marketing efforts based on data analysis and current best practices.
- Launch and optimize Shopify product listings for Thistle Farms and Shared Trade products – approximately 200 products per year.
- Manage and update listings across multiple sales channels, including three Shopify sites, Shopify POS, Meta Commerce Manager, Google Merchant, Faire, and Amazon Seller Central.
- Digitally merchandise to increase conversion using best-in-class techniques such as collection management, product recommendations, cross-sells, etc.
- Manage listings throughout the product life cycle, including A/B testing for evergreen products.
- Staying on top of new Shopify releases and evolving eComm industry standards and best practices.
Web Content Management and Optimization
- Support the accurate and efficient management of the organization’s websites.
- Create landing pages and collections for campaigns: Product Launches, Gift Guides, Holidays, Flash Sales, and other campaigns.
- Support SEO optimization at the direction of the ECommerce Site Strategy Manager. Experience using SEMrush and/or Yoast is helpful but not required.
- Manage seasonal and campaign-specific updates
- Work with ECommerce Site Strategy Manager to implement ongoing optimizations and conduct A/B testing.
Digital Marketing Support:
- Support ECommerce Site Strategy Manager as needed with enhancements to dynamic retargeting via Meta Commerce Manager.
- Work with marketing team to support email and SMS campaign activities designed to achieve D2C and Donation revenue goals through optimized landing pages, and link/CTA recommendations based on conversion rates/performance.
Qualifications
Key Qualifications
- 2-4 years’ experience with Shopify. Possess a solid understanding of eCommerce strategies platform functionalities, and third-party integrations. Experience in enhancing user shopping experiences, increasing conversion rates, and utilizing platform analytics for data-driven decision-making is preferred.
- 1-2 years’ experience with Shopify Website Themes. Proven track record in managing content updates, constructing new pages, and identifying third-party applications to meet unique use case needs. The candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of maintaining a healthy and optimized website tech stack, ensuring both an efficient user experience for external visitors and seamless integration with internal systems.
- Strong attention to detail
- General knowledge of UX/UI best practices is preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills: able to research, diagnose, and resolve issues
- Analytical – able to interpret data and provide actionable insights
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with a high attention to detail
- A self-starter, capable of navigating unfamiliar situations
